Celebrate International Women’s Day with ASCLA QLD at the stunning Blackbird Bar & Grill on Friday, 6th March 2026. Join us from 12:00pm to 3:00pm for an afternoon dedicated to “Balance the Scales,” exploring leadership and equity in the supply chain and logistics industry.

Enjoy 180-degree views of the Brisbane River while networking with industry leaders, innovators, and advocates. This flagship gala features the Blackbird signature feasting menu, and inspiring keynote speakers sharing journeys of resilience and success.

Whether you’re a seasoned professional, a rising star, or a male ally, this is the premier event to connect, collaborate, and drive change. Set against the glamour of one of Brisbane’s most iconic venues, we will celebrate the achievements of women shaping our global networks.

SPEAKERS

  Kim Richards – Executive Leader, Australian Institute of Architects for Qld

Kim has more than 25 years of leadership experience across architecture, strategy and stakeholder engagement. She has held senior roles focused on industry advocacy, business leadership and shaping outcomes for communities across Queensland. Kim also served as the former Member for Redlands in the Queensland Parliament, bringing valuable public policy and government insight to her work. She is passionate about leadership, collaboration and creating more inclusive futures across industry and community.

 

Magenta Thorley – Manufacturing Planning Manager, Sunny Queen
Magenta Thorley is a strategic supply chain and operations leader with deep expertise in procurement strategy and multi‑site operational planning. Beginning her career in manufacturing and progressing into frontline supervision, she gained an inclusive, hands‑on understanding of the realities, challenges, and  contribu-tions that shape operational success. 

This experience grounds her perspective and underpins her ability to excel across the wider supply chain. Magenta is currently the Manufacturing Planning Manager at Sunny Queen and serves as a committee member on the Intersectionality Advisory Committee for the National Association of Women in Operations, contributing to industry‑wide efforts that strengthen equity and representation for diverse women in operations. Recognised for delivering meaningful efficiency and commercial improvements, Magenta champions inclusive, high‑performance cultures and ensures diverse, intersectional perspectives strengthen decision‑making and support sustainable operational success.

   

Sarah Sigley – Queensland Volunteer Coordinator, OzHarvest
S
arah 
is passionate about using the power of OzHarvest’s incredible volunteers to meet operational and strategic goals.  With a background in education and Development Studies, she enjoys the day-to-day challenges of working for an NGO: how to improve systems and processes to find harmony between pragmatic and ideal solutions! 
In her personal life, she loves bushwalking and spoiling her dogs.

Experience

Brett joins Bridgestone Australia in 2024 to support Supply Chain Optimisation for their Pacific region. Previously Brett has worked with the large multi-nationals BHP and Schneider Electric.

He has more than 20 years of experience in supply chains where he has held leadership roles across Asia Pacific related to Quality, Industrialisation, Procurement, Strategy and large-scale Transformations. During this time he has witnessed the evolution of Supply Chains throughout the world, as they have been disrupted and forced to become more tailored, more agile, more sustainable and fully digitized.

He strives to share his experiences and use his knowledge and networks to really support local organisations and to stimulate and grow the professional community that is ASCLA.

Sara is a seasoned supply chain professional with over 20 years of Logistics and Supply Chain expertise. She has a rich background in Leadership, Logistics Management and Operations, with roles as Logistics Manager, Continuous Improvement, and Commercial Management within the realm of advanced manufacturing operations. Sara has contributed her skills at renowned companies such as Visy, Penrice, and Adbri.

Currently, serving as a Supply Chain Consultant for her own business, Sara focuses on building strong partnerships and driving continuous improvement.

Recently joining ASCLA, she is excited about sharing her knowledge and experience as it relates to innovation, collaboration, and continued excellence in the field of Supply Chain and Logistics.
